Woolwich Township Backyard Transformation

When these homeowners contacted PCT Outdoor Living, they had a blank-slate backyard with endless possibilities but no clear vision for how to make the space functional for their family. Our team worked closely with them throughout the design process to create an outdoor living area that would allow them to comfortably relax, entertain, and watch their children play with family members next door.

What made this project even more special is that we had previously completed a backyard project for their next-door neighbor, who happens to be the homeowner's sister-in-law. We love helping families create outdoor spaces that bring people together, and it was rewarding to design and build an environment where cousins can play together while parents enjoy spending time outdoors.

Project Highlights

• Designed a complete outdoor living space tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle and goals.

• Constructed a 16' x 16' elevated deck.

• Installed Deckorators® Summit Glacier composite decking.

• Added a Dark Slate picture-frame border for a clean, finished appearance.

• Installed helical pile foundations for superior long-term structural support.

• Built the deck framing using:

  • 6x6 pressure-treated support posts

  • Triple 2x12 pressure-treated beams

  • 2x10 pressure-treated joists

  • Joists spaced 16 inches on center

• Installed white vinyl railings with round black aluminum balusters.

• Built a 6-foot-wide staircase for easy access to the backyard.

• Framed staircase stringers 12 inches on center for added strength and stability.

• Constructed a 14' x 16' Cambridge paver patio.

• Installed Cambridge Limestone Quarry Blue pavers.

• Added a contrasting charcoal border around the patio perimeter.

• Built the patio using a fully permeable base system to promote proper drainage and reduce water retention.

• Created a seamless transition between the elevated deck and ground-level patio.

• Delivered a low-maintenance outdoor living space designed for entertaining, family gatherings, and everyday use.

The Result

This project transformed an unused backyard into a beautiful and functional outdoor living space where family and friends can gather for years to come. By combining a premium composite deck with a professionally installed permeable paver patio, we created an outdoor environment that is as practical as it is beautiful—giving the homeowners the perfect place to relax while watching their children and nieces and nephews make memories together.
